
Crispy Fried Cheese Curds
Ingredients
- 1 lb cheese curds
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 0.25 tsp black pepper
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsp water
- 1.5 cup panko or breadcrumbs
- Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
Steps
- Heat about 2 inches of oil in a heavy pot or skillet to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- In another bowl whisk eggs with water.
- Place panko or breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
- Toss cheese curds in the seasoned flour, then dip in the egg mixture, then coat with panko.
- Carefully fry curds in batches 1–2 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
