Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 0.5 tsp allspice
  • 0.5 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 cup beef broth
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 cup shredded cheddar or brick cheese

Steps

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook spaghetti until al dente; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large saucepan over medium heat, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic until beef is browned and onion is soft; drain excess fat.
  3. Add tomato sauce, beef broth, chili powder, cinnamon, cumin, allspice, cayenne (if using), salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer 20–25 minutes to let flavors deepen.
  5. To assemble your 4-way: place cooked spaghetti on a plate, ladle chili over the top, sprinkle with cheese, then add kidney beans.
  6. Serve immediately while hot.
