
Cincinnati 4-Way Chili
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 0.5 tsp allspice
- 0.5 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- 2 cup beef broth
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 12 oz spaghetti
- 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 cup shredded cheddar or brick cheese
Steps
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook spaghetti until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan over medium heat, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic until beef is browned and onion is soft; drain excess fat.
- Add tomato sauce, beef broth, chili powder, cinnamon, cumin, allspice, cayenne (if using), salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
- Reduce heat and simmer 20–25 minutes to let flavors deepen.
- To assemble your 4-way: place cooked spaghetti on a plate, ladle chili over the top, sprinkle with cheese, then add kidney beans.
- Serve immediately while hot.
